You Can Fundraise Like a Champion:
While not mandatory, every participant is encouraged to fundraise beyond the registration cost. After registering you will have access to set up a personal fundraising page for the event. Optionally at the bottom of this page there is a printable fundraising form. Be sure to share your story and who your favorite non profit is. Fundraising to gain extra votes has never been easier. For each additional $25 raised beyond the registration fee earns you another vote for your nonprofit!
Additional BBQ Lunches & Entertainment:
If you’re bringing your family and friends to the event, but they aren’t registered to participate – they can still eat BBQ! Attendees are encouraged to pre-register & pay for their lunches in advance. $15/each meal. Sign up here.

Dates & Deadlines
- Online registration ends at 5 pm on Friday, June 29th
- In person, registration is open the day of the event from 6 to 8 am. Please note the start times of the routes.
Swag Bag (Packet) Pickup:
Packet pick up is how you receive your bib #, t-shirt, and other materials before event day. Any money you’ve raised can be turned in at that time. Turning in donations beforehand is encouraged in order to alleviate any wait time on event day. Registration is also available during these time.

Safety for Runners
Identity: Run with proper ID, and carry a cell phone with emergency contacts taped to its back.
Water Bottles: Remember to stay hydrated throughout the day. There are also many water stops along the routes.
Don’t pretend you’re invisible: Don’t assume a driver sees you. In fact, imagine that a driver can’t see you, and behave accordingly.
Face traffic: It’s easier to see, and react to, oncoming cars. And cars will see you more clearly too.
Sidewalks: Runners should use sidewalks that are designated as running lanes when available.
Be seen: Wear high-visibility, brightly colored clothing. Reflective materials are a must. (If you don’t own reflective clothing, a lightweight reflective vest is a great option.) You may also opt to use a headlamp or handheld light. The light should have a bright LED (drivers see blinking red as a hazard).
Children: Children 12 and younger must be registered with an adult.
Unplug your ears: Avoid using iPods or wearing headphones—you need to be able to hear approaching vehicles.
Watch the hills: When they crest hills, drivers’ vision can suddenly be impaired by factors like sun glare or backdrops.
Mind your manners: At a stop sign or light, wait for the driver to wave you through—then acknowledge with your own polite wave. That acknowledgement will make the driver feel more inclined to do it again for the next walker or runner. Use hand signals (as you would on a bicycle) to show which way you plan to turn.
Bicycles, Scooters, Skateboards, Rollerblades and Roller Skates: The use of bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, and roller skates are prohibited during this event.

Run like the wind: Running shows not only your physical determination but your determination to help your favorite local nonprofit. The event is open to all sorts of runners - beginners to experienced. If you choose to run you will be among lots of peers who share your wish to get the most votes for your nonprofit. Options include: Youth & Adult - 5k, 10k and half marathon routes.
The Bangor Area Challenge for Charities event is fun for the whole family. Participants of all ages need to be registered and have a completed waiver. Children 12 years of age and younger must also be accompanied by a participating adult.
Yes. All participants will have access to AM goodies (tea, coffee, juice & blueberry coffee cake) and a BBQ lunch from 11am to 2pm.

Rollerblades, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, and pets are prohibited along the walk/run routes. Baby strollers, service animals, and wheelchairs are allowed.
